I love when former wedding clients invite me back to share the magic of dance for other special life occasions. This was a beautiful night of celebrating friendship during the holiday season. Some friends in the room knew each other for over 60 years! Glad to teach and witness these life long connections.

Thank you 2025 for another year of teaching. I am beyond grateful. Here are a few highlights of the year. I am looking forward to more moments of collaboration, celebration, and creativity in 2026! Happy New Year!

12 years ago, I started CM Dance Company and produced my first little show for a preschool. A lot has happened since then (2 kids, a pandemic, homeschool, a few existential crisis’😩).

My latest production happened on Saturday and I am still processing the magic of that event. The photos and videos are being collected and I can’t wait to share some highlights soon. Reflecting back on where I started, it’s appropriate to say, things have escalated…in the best way possible. ❤️

Going into my 20th season of teaching dance with this type of energy!

My current season of life requires the most of me and there is no better dance than the samba to embody the stamina required to carry it all! Shout out to @samba_e_fuego and @arieldancestudios for the opportunity to keep on dancing, learning, and connecting with a beautiful community of dancing human beings!

It’s World Theatre Day! These days I enjoy working behind the scenes and living a slower paced life. Doing theatre inspired me to live a life beyond the stage and taught me how take the lead in both my personal and professional life. I love being able to pass those lessons down to my students. Also, since my time away from the stage as a performer, I’ve really enjoyed sitting in the audience being transported to another reality. Thank you to everyone who is part of keeping theatre alive. 🙏🏽

What a great night for my homeschool musical theatre program and the students who courageously performed on stage! This was a new experience for most and I’m incredibly proud of how they all decided to show up for this moment. I am celebrating everyone’s growth and the community that came together to support these children and this program. I am grateful and blessed for this opportunity to teach, guide, and create. 🥰🙏🏽

Samba-the perfect dance style to express how I’m feeling and living in this present time of my life. It’s fast paced and fabulous! You may miss a beat but you must keep pushing towards your most amazing self.

It’s been a little over 10 years since I’ve danced for myself. My kids came to watch me dance for the first time ever and I love that I could share this version of myself with them and that this version of myself is still available to share.

It was National Dance Day yesterday and I’m happy to share that this year-I danced. 💃🏽

Wishing everyone a great year of learning.

I grew up celebrating the Filipino Christmas tradition of Noche Buena. Noche Buena is celebrated by going to a candle light Christmas church service in the evening, and then immediately meeting with family for a huge feast of traditional Filipino dishes, singing, dancing, and opening of gifts!

Here I am at 5 years old, singing carols with my family during Noche Buena-my most favorite part of the tradition! What I love more than being a teacher of the performing arts is being a patron of the performing arts!

The production was beautifully done! I especially enjoyed watching my son and niece cheer with excitement throughout the performance.

As mentioned in previous post, I am spending the month of December writing reviews for local businesses I support. Today I share with you a review for my son’s public speaking and entrepreneur teacher: Illene Marks of Empower Thrive.

My son loves learning about business and we have approached the learning of core academic subjects by teaching him how it all relates to making his business ideas come to life. Here are a few photos of him at his most recent craft fair selling “Jere Pops,” a rice crispy treat on a stick! No more sticky fingers!

Homeschooling my child has given me the opportunity to meet and partner with amazing teachers. My son has loved learning about public speaking and entrepreneurship from Illene Marks since kindergarten. He looks forward to her classes every week and I am happy that he has the opportunity to learn and develop these necessary life skills at such a young age-with a teacher who truly understands how to work with my highly energetic, extremely curious, and strong willed child.

There is always something to celebrate! And today, I celebrate all those who have invited me into their lives to teach them how to honor themselves, their loved ones, and the most monumental moments of their lives with song, dance, movement, and storytelling.

What I love most about working with the homeschool community as a teacher is being able to witness the various learning paths that families choose for their child(ren). As a homeschooling mama myself, I enjoy being able to create a learning environment that is unique to how my child learns and what his interests are. Oh, it’s also awesome to not start the “school day” until 10am! 🤷🏻‍♀️😴
